The degree course in Computer Science aims to train professionals capable of successfully facing the challenges posed by the growing needs of the information society. Graduates in Computer Science will be equipped with a solid basic cultural background, which will allow them to keep up with the progress of technologies, and technical preparation that will allow them a rapid professional integration in the information and communication technologies sector. In addition, they will be able to access higher education levels subsequent to the first, in the IT sector.

The main specific training objectives of the Degree Course in Computer Science are the learning of methods, techniques and tools for the design and development of “quality” computer systems, the knowledge of the main hardware and software technologies and network systems, to which are added technical-professional skills suitable for rapid insertion into the world of work, both in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and in the various application sectors on these technologies. The integration between a solid basic preparation and the understanding and use of the most advanced information technologies constitutes a fundamental element of the course of study, indispensable for producing the skills necessary to understand technological evolution, interpret its contents, identify it applications, expand and change the way we operate. Graduates in Computer Science will be prepared both for entry into the world of work and for continuing their studies towards a master’s degree or a first level master’s degree.
